She'd only told one lie. He'd told thousands. So why did she feel so guilty?
Based off the prompt from writing.prompt.s on instagram: a man and his wife meet at the pearly gates after they're both killed in an accident. However, to enter, each must confess any lies they told to the other in the past life. Saint Peter hands the man a stack of books filled with lies he told, big and small. To the woman, he gives one small piece of paper with just four words on it.

𝗔𝗡𝗘𝗜𝗥𝗔 wished the second she stepped foot in the town, she was back safe in the arms of her mother and father. 𝗔𝗡𝗘𝗜𝗥𝗔 was only 13 when she had to flee her home with 𝗔𝗚𝗔𝗧𝗛𝗔 by her side. A woman (who had kids and a husband) had lost her life. This initially started a spiral of thoughts leading to the creation of this story. There are a lot of mirroring qualities between my life and Maribell's, but unlike the lovely woman who had passed (I personally don't know her, but may she rest in peace), I don't have kids or a significant other, so I had to put my own spin on things.
