"So this is the girl," a darkly dressed woman stepped out from the shadows, her high heels treaded softly towards me. A man no later than his thirties, responded, "Yes, Rachel." I just shut my eyes and pinched myself, my eight-year-old self hoping this was just another nightmare. The intelligent women's eyes raked over me. Somehow, I knew she already memorized the subtle way my eyes twitched when I was nervous, the way how my heart shaped head was structured, and what weaknesses and strengths I had. I always hated how vulnerable I felt. The women tore her eyes away from me, and instead focusing on her imaginary watch. "Hutch, introduce the girl to her room, the training room, study lab, and all that other rooms. I have a meeting to attend." And with that, she walked away, not making one sound. Hutch gazed at me, his eyes softening just a bit, "Come on Sky, you have a lot of learning to do." And at that moment, I knew that in here, "learning" wasn't learning multiplication or about learning new words, it was about breaking sweat from punching bags and spraining ankles from running long distances. ******************************************* You would have thought the FBI was the top elite thing, the one that could handle anything and everything. You really need to consider. 11 years ago, Sky would have thought the FBI could handle anything. That they were huge buffy meat guys who knocked down doors and had huge security systems in their headquarters. That she could trust them to save her mother. That chilly stormy night, changed her brain to shut down the word trust. Who knew that one word could mean so much? It's just one word, right? Warning: This isn't exactly the best piece of writing ever, so don't expect it to be awesome and be disappointed.
