For as long as she can remember, Silver has wanted to be a dancer. She was first in a small studio in Delaware, then she came to the Next Step after her home burned down, leaving her and her two brothers orphaned. Silver used to be a triple threat, but now, she's burned all over on the outside, and her vocal cords and throat were severely damaged.

She can barely talk now, let alone sing. Her younger brother Leo is mute, he can't talk and has never spoken a word in his life, but he communicates by sign language with his older siblings.

Darren is the oldest, and he dances professionally to support them. Silver has a job as a waitress to keep enough money to dance, so Darren doesn't have to pay for everything.

But what happens when she meets the E-Girls? Will the pressure crack her down to her core, leaving her running from her appearance, the one thing she can't get rid off? Or will she stand and fight, or dance, for her right to be there at the Next Step?
