After everything that happened, it's surprising to find out who's there for Harry and who isn't, especially since he's taking care of his orphaned godson and trying to abandon magic. A lot of changes are taking place, each one tiny step at a time.

Note: This was originally published on my AO3 account, but I figured since I've written it and put a lot of work into it, I might as well share it on here. This is 100% domestic fluff with lots of guilt and references to the books. I hope you enjoy it!

TW: Mentions of death wishes; consumption of alcohol
Maybe read this if you're 15 or older.

[176k words] A/N: It is in your best interest to check literally ANYTHING else I've ever published instead of reading this. Thank you!* Harry knew he could never be friends with Draco. At first, he thought it was because they were enemies. Completely different. But when Ella Amster showed him that they are actually quite similar, the reason why their friendship would never be real, changed. They were both too complicated to be friends; both too complicated to stop on that. And while a little mystery of Draco's "wrong" turn to the right is poking the back of his head, his demons (that he hoped have gone after his summer adventures) are just waiting to attack him again. One coincidence after another will lead Harry right in front of Draco's so well kept secret. And he will stand there all alone his eyes staring at Draco's that suddenly weren't so silver as usual. CW: suicidal thoughts, depressive episodes, guilt tripping, infidelity, suicide attempt →→→→→→→→→→→→→→→→→→→→→→→→→→→→→→→→→→→→→→→ *WARNING - READ BEFORE READING: This was written when I was 13 years old and just figuring out what writing really means so this is of dubious quality. Other things to keep in mind, aside from the trigger warnings, are the fact that there are plot holes, there are appearances of toxic relationships (which are not acknowledged to be toxic relationships), mental health is handled really badly (there is some romanization of depression and a blatant lack of proper mental health help being sought out or given), some plot points are poorly resolved, most OCs are two-dimensional and frustrating, etc. So, proceed with caution if you still wish to read it and if not, I hope you find more enjoyment in some of my other work which is more thought out and well-written such as "Apples and Oranges", "Wings of Salvation" and "Capax infinity" for Drarry stories or one of my one-shot collections.
LABYRINTH of HEARTS (DRARRY Romance) by Risa_Fey

Headcanon Premise: Harry and Draco were always in love or at least attracted to each other, even during (and partly because) of Draco's bullying. This story is 99% canon-compliant and fits in as supplemental material for the original books. Toxic love story with a happy ending. Hogwarts Years 1 - 8 ⚠️Hogwarts Era smut⚠️ [Available also on AO3 and FF] This is a Harry/Draco romance set in the canon HP universe, covering all seven years of schooling as a series of Memory Vials. This fic is presented more like Deleted Scenes than a Rewrite, following the plot of their romance instead of Harry's quest to defeat Voldemort. Everyone is mostly in character (hopefully), and Draco is the troubled little shit you know and love but with more dimension added to his character. A movie depiction might be preferred in my version, but it's recommended you read along with the original books to avoid loss of context, unless you read them already, which should be enough. This fic is roughly 99% canon compliant, while allowing for artistic license and changes here and there, also scrapping the original epilogue. Content Warning: language, smut, mature themes and situations, alcohol/substance use, homophobic bullying and harassment, conversion therapy, dark themes, morally ambiguous situations, tactical omniscient head-hopping, and pretentious poetry. I'm American, so expect Americanisms, but I did my best to use British-English where it mattered most. Constructive feedback is welcome.
