Andrei Bender, een oud-acteur en artiest, heeft na een woelig leven vol avonturen niets liever dan ronddwalen in Parijs. Hij zit zonder werk en zonder wit geld. Met zijn charme kan hij mensen zonder te merken bestelen en al het gestolen goed verstoppen in zijn wandelstok, die hij altijd bij zich heeft.
Op een dag komt hij zijn vriend Antoine tegen en samen gaan ze naar Disneyland, om bij te praten na jarenlang elkaar niet meer gezien te hebben. Maar zijn trip eindigt in - bijna letterlijk - hel.
Dit is geschreven in scriptvorm, omdat ik het oorspronkelijk geschreven heb voor het toneel bij mij op school. Maar omdat ik dat versie niet zo goed vind door de te korte tijd dat het verhaal mag duren zijn er heel veel dingen weggevallen die - zo vind ik persoonlijk - belangrijk zijn voor het volledige verhaal en om het einde te kunnen begrijpen.
Extra: op de cover staat Andrei Mironov uit een screenshot van de film(serie) 12 Stoelen, geregisseerd door Leonid Gaidaj. Hij speelt Ostap Bender, het personage waarop ik overduidelijk op gebaseerd heb en dat geef ik ook openlijk toe. Ik zie het personage in dit boek (Andrei Bender) dus ook helemaal niet mijn eigen.

But I've mastered how to tell someone just a little about myself but doing it in a way that makes the person in front of me think they know a lot. Jasper, somehow, sees through this every fucking time and it's absolutely infuriating.
