Ileana Escamilla is pissed. And rightfully so.

Her mother moved her across the country, away from her friends and job, just because she "wanted something new". As if.

Leah had a plan for her life. Graduate high school, go to college (Hillsdale, preferably), then hopefully marry her boyfriend, Ry.

After the move, she feels untethered, like her fate isn't hers to decide anymore.

At her new school, things start off a little rocky, but they've smoothed out. She's making friends, she's on the swim team; she even joined the musical (after some coercion by new friends). Her life seems to be back on track.

Until Ry shows up, bringing with him her old life, as well as her old hopes and dreams.

It may take everything in her to keep things from blowing up.
