Catori is a sixteen year old girl who fell from the sky. She has no memory of how she got to this strange jungle swamp all she knows is she was given a chance to do something. Something important. A village finds her and takes Catori in. They soon find out Catori has strange markings all over her and each day one disappears. The villagers are fearful of the jungle. Only the men are allowed to leave and hunt and even when it starts to turn dark they come running home. What's out there that the tribe won't tell Catori about? Strange beasts lurk in the darkness. It all begins when she sneaks out after dark and meets the most feared beast of them all. Absaroke. The crow. This is a story of a girls duty and a beasts love.

The trip takes a few wrong turns, and the four of them decide to head back. After a month passes, however, Aiden's dad decides that they should go back to the forest for a do-over. As Aiden expected though, the trip goes wrong once again. Only thing is, he didn't know that it was going to be worse then any of them could've imagined. When all the drama from the trip dies down a little, a certain someone is forced to stay with them. After a couple of days, however, this "someone" shows no sign of leaving. Then Aiden makes some friends who wouldn't exactly be considered normal in the eye of humans, and -with some of his friends from his high school- goes on a journey that nobody knew would be possible.
