Hiro Akimoto has had high expectations to be the "hero" of his story. His family has high expectations of his grades, his friends has high expectations for his involvement with their newly found hobby, and his sister has high expectations of him being the best role model. Hiro finds himself spiraling around, trying to humor every single expectation he can only to find himself empty and lost. Not only that, he bumps into a mysterious boy who was a perfect him that Hiro can't succeed. Although Mystery Boy was a perfect example of who Hiro wanted to be, there was one flaw: he was gay.
