A few months ago, Callie woke up in the bed of a hospital, with no memory of how she grew up. She was a strange charity case for a higher-class Liken family, and in all the scramble, ended up with two adopted brothers, two adopted parents, and a mechanical leg to take after her amputated one. Callie was told that her own mother had disowned her and that her biological brothers were still trapped in the blocked off, Independent Township of Syphen, an underground city lying underneath Liken. She had no reason to question her unfamiliar background, until she finds her own way down to Syphen and remembers.
