A quiet and pensive seven-year-old, Thomas Anderson, meets a bubbly little girl named Christina. The two quickly become inseparable, but have to part ways when their wonderful vacation in Istanbul ends.
When they find each other again in America, their friendship continues as if they never separated. It finally seems as if the two could spend their whole lives together, until circumstance rips them apart.
Heartbroken, Thomas attempts to move on during his teenage years, but another girl won't let him. He finds her sudden interest in him disturbing, as well as, incredibly annoying. Everything about her reminds him of Christina, and it only makes him want to push her away more. This doesn't deter the girl one bit, she's determined to be friends with the prickly boy.
Life may be fleeting, but friendship and love outlast the very stars in this quaint little story about souls fated to meet.
