After the death of his wife during his sons birth, Alexander has become homeless only having enough money to get him and his son, Phillip, food. He was recently fired from his one source of income so he has to find something else, which is going to be very difficult.
He had to resort to breaking into houses for money or food, as getting a job was getting him no where. One night he successfully broken into a house but it didn't exactly go as planned.
