[kal-op-see-uh]
-noun
a condition, state or delusion in which things appear more beautiful than they really are
"So, do you believe in good and bad, like how their are good and bad people?" The little boy asked, staring up at the masked woman while swinging his legs back and forth. A curious expression shown across his soft facial features.
"Yes, and no." Was the woman's short reply, as she peeked though the blue satin curtains and watched, as the red and blue lights faded off into the distance along with the shrieking sound of sirens.
"What do you mean?" The boy questioned, confusion mixed in with his curiosity.
"Exactly as I said, little boy." The woman said, pausing to take a quick look at him before looking back out the white-pained window.
"I do believe there are good and bad people, but I also believe that there is a blank place between them. A place that most people don't understand or rather, don't try to understand." The woman answered, staring thoughtfully up at the night sky, wishing to see the stars, which she knew would be impossible.
"What are you then?" The boy asked yet another question, smiling up at the woman.
"What am I?" The woman questioned herself, looking down at the boy.
"I," The woman said while squatting down so that she was eye-level with the boy. "Am a good person, doing what is wrong, for a good reason."
