She goes by the nickname, Kata, a name her mother gave her. When she was two, her mother disappeared. Merle was in jail for two years and by the time Merle got out, Kata was four and they left their grandfather's place after Daryl learned the dark secret that hurt his daughter. When Kata's grandfather died, her family got the trailer and even though it was hard for her family, they made it work. Kata was taught how to hunt, shoot a gun, and grossly, how to gut certain animals. One night, the world died. Everything. The dead started coming back to life, killing the living. Her family ran into a man and woman on the highway, combing with other people, making a larger group. Everything started really change when a man named Rick Grimes came to the group.
