Your mother always told you stories about monsters and ghouls in the wood, but the stories were also warnings.
The most told story was of that about the "fæ", the stories of the fæ whispered about the village like a sickness. The fæ took children that wondered, and made the harvest wilt if displeased but your mother also spoke about the good the fæ bring, and why it was important to respect them. Once a child wondered a little too far out of the village walls, someone claimed that it was because a fæ man had stolen her away, that she took him by the hand and they walked into the wood, never to be seen again.
