It was fate. Okay, maybe not fate but it definitely wasn't by chance. I mean come on, what are the chances of meeting the love of your life in the men's bathroom, while you're oh so innocently threatening an arms dealer? That has to be something at least resembling fate right?
Natasha Rodikoff did not expect what was supposed to be her wild night on the town to end up with her running into an ex-work associate. And by ex, she means a guy who owes her mob father 35,000 dollars in stolen fire arms. Having a life full of expectations and high standards, Natasha only wanted to steal one night-one night- to herself where she didn't have to think about being the heir to a billion dollar criminal organization. And following a sleezy arms dealer in a dirty bar bathroom had not been how she imagined her night playing out. But what she really didn't imagine happening , because come on who's that creative, was the guy, and may I say, the quite hot guy, who stormed into the bathroom with a gun and told her to get behind him. No, that only happens when someone, evil souled most likely, decides to intervene and make her life a living hell. So proper or not, we're going to go ahead and call this someone fate.

Her Phoenix and it's fire is there in an instant, but the cuffs don't relinquish. A torrent of flame erupts around her, setting fire to the mattress and sheets, but the frame doesn't budge. "Emergency fire protocol activated. Start oxygen deprivation" a computerized female voice says. Phoenix can hear a hissing sound and then instantly can't catch a breath. As her flames are extinguished, she again falls unconscious. After a rocky start with the Avengers, she found exactly the people to help her haunt the monsters of her past. His voice sounds familiar, and a realization strikes me. It sounds like the man from my dream. I remember him holding a gun and wearing a blue suit, smiling evilly at me. "Leave us alone," Joey says, sounding dangerous and snapping me out of my thoughts. The levity of the situation hits-we need to get out of here. I look around for a route of escape and thankfully I see a light, literally, at the end of the second tunnel. I let out a small, almost inaudible, gasp and nudge Joey. He looks at me and I subtly gesture with my head to the second tunnel. He glances at it and immediately we are on the same page. His jaw sets and he looks at the group. The man speaks up again, chuckling darkly-a sound I will never forget and will be permanently etched into my brain, "You can thank your father for starting this mess." -------------------------- Liza was a normal teenaged girl, living the average life that an eighteen year old girl should be living.
