From bickering with each other in the hallways of school or at the local diner, Emaline and Jaxon went to making out on free periods, dates at the diner, and dancing at prom. But they'd made a deal before getting into a relationship. "Whatever happens, we end this when we graduate." Both of them needed to be concentrating on school when it started the next fall. A long-distance relationship would only be a distraction once college started. --- A Friday night after a shit day at work, a perfect time to go out for a couple drinks. Emaline orders a taxi to pick her up from her building, but when the cab is about to leave, someone gets into the backseat with her. Jaxon Maverick, her ex-boyfriend that she hasn't seen in eight years. Not since high school graduation. They end up spending the evening together, having a few drinks at the bar and reminizing on the past. Both of their lives have changed a lot throughout the years, but do their hearts still ache after one another like they used to? A/N: Some mature language. It's a pretty short story, so everything in the "eight years ago" chapters is pretty fast-paced.
