Based on the Chinese legend.
Everyone has a red string connecting them to their sole mate. The string can stretch and contract, but no matter what, it can not break.
The string can only be seen when the love between two soulmates is in it's truest and purest form.
Only when you have given your heart to someone and received a heart in return, can you see the string.
But that isn't much help when Keith is struggling with weather or not his dangerous newfound crush a certain paladin is actually
