Nova had been floating through life since her birth. Her parents weren't important in the Elvin world, and she wasn't any closer to becoming important. At fifteen all her friends manifested in abilities, and she was worried that, like her talentless parents, she wouldn't as well. That is until finally she gets her ability. But, she almost wish she hadn't with what ensues.

36 parts Complete
TW: this book may contain mentions of violence and of suicide. DISCLAIMER #1: I wrote this story when I was a teen and while some mental disorders are the focal point, they may not be accurate representations as I was far from being a psychologist. There are several things Lynn doesn't quite get about the world she lives in, which makes it harder for her to figure herself out. She is not your average teenager. She's young, intelligent, though something about her is off by now. Everyone is quick to misjudge and point fingers, everything and everyone is so corrupted that she's afraid she'll lose herself among a bunch of wandering, empty souls. Therapy can only help so much, depression is hard to die, and in Lynn's case it's caused solely by the fact she doesn't 'fit in'. She can't really find her place in the world. But there's something really special about her; Her dreams are haunted by a wonderful, mystical place. No one understands her, they think she's off her rocker, that she needs to cut her childish daydreams. But Lynn knows deep in her heart that place really exists, and she'll do anything to find it, with the help of some new found friends. There's only one thing she must do: Keep an open mind, it brings open hearts and open eyes. -- DISCLAIMER #2 This fanfiction is inspired to Mind Over Matter by Pvris and their lyrics in general. All you read here is fiction. every reference to real events or people is purely coincidental. I do not own the songs featured in the book. DOCTOR WHO: The Odd Life of Nova Sue -- PART 1: Becoming by audisawesomesauce
48 parts Complete
{PART 1 OF AN ONGOING SERIES} Life has its struggles, especially when one is born different from everyone else on the planet. Nova Susan Song is no ordinary teenage girl from Earth. In fact, she is not from Earth at all. She possesses these 'abilities' that she does not know the origins of, such as a high IQ that is much greater than any of her peers and to be able to make her skin glow gold and heal any injury at will, but her adoptive human parents urge her to keep these 'powers' secret from anyone she meets, including her best friend. With no clue as to why, Nova spends most of her life researching where her abilities originally came from and concludes that they must have come from her biological parents, who had given her up for adoption when she was just a few days old to be protected from a danger she does not understand--a danger known as the Vokanari, a.k.a. The Silence. And they want her to be their next weapon against her own father, the Doctor. When her best friend and human guardians are kidnapped, Nova joins her biological parents through Time and Space to find them and, along the way, learns the true meaning and responsibilities of being a Time Lord. ----------------------------- Other stories in the "Nova Sue" series: *** PREQUEL "Arising: A Nova Sue Prequel (PART 1.5)" COMPLETE*** *** SEQUEL "the odd life of Nova Sue -- Part 2: Discovering" IN PROGRESS *** Coverpage generated by ChatGPT Stories can also be found on fanfiction.net and AO3 under the same profile name. Sophie Foster thought she was a human, lived like a human for 12 years, except she wasn't. When she was 5, she started reading other people's minds, and when she was 12, she discovered the truth. A boy found her, and took her to where she belonged, with other elves - because she is an elf too. She never was normal, and even in a place with others of her race, she still didn't quite fit in. But only a few days after her arrival in District 11 - her soon to be home, the council, the rulers of all 12 districts, were overthrown by a group called the Neverseen. And what had before been a covert way of scaring people and their faith in the council became a public tradition - once a year, two people from each district would be selected and told to fight to the death. And when Sophie's adoptive mother gets chosen, Sophie takes her place. But she never did fit in, because she isn't just an elf, she's something else. Something more. But when you have power, you have people who want to steal and destroy it. May the odds ever be in her favour... Extract: "Don't do this," Sophie whispered into her ear. She shook her head. "Mom, Dad - I love you. And I'm sorry," she said to the camera. Sophie's face was red and puffy with tears now, but she didn't care. "Let me be brave," she whispered to herself, inaudible to everyone except her. "Let me be brave, let me be brave, let me be brave." 211 in hungergames - 29.10.20 76 in hungergames- 28.12.20 Based off the bestselling Keeper of the Lost Cities series by Shannon Messenger
