Nova had been floating through life since her birth. Her parents weren't important in the Elvin world, and she wasn't any closer to becoming important. At fifteen all her friends manifested in abilities, and she was worried that, like her talentless parents, she wouldn't as well. That is until finally she gets her ability. But, she almost wish she hadn't with what ensues.

TW: this book may contain mentions of violence and of suicide. DISCLAIMER #1: I wrote this story when I was a teen and while some mental disorders are the focal point, they may not be accurate representations as I was far from being a psychologist. There are several things Lynn doesn't quite get about the world she lives in, which makes it harder for her to figure herself out. She is not your average teenager. She's young, intelligent, though something about her is off by now. Everyone is quick to misjudge and point fingers, everything and everyone is so corrupted that she's afraid she'll lose herself among a bunch of wandering, empty souls. Therapy can only help so much, depression is hard to die, and in Lynn's case it's caused solely by the fact she doesn't 'fit in'. She can't really find her place in the world. But there's something really special about her; Her dreams are haunted by a wonderful, mystical place. No one understands her, they think she's off her rocker, that she needs to cut her childish daydreams. But Lynn knows deep in her heart that place really exists, and she'll do anything to find it, with the help of some new found friends. There's only one thing she must do: Keep an open mind, it brings open hearts and open eyes. -- DISCLAIMER #2 This fanfiction is inspired to Mind Over Matter by Pvris and their lyrics in general. All you read here is fiction. every reference to real events or people is purely coincidental. I do not own the songs featured in the book. Nova disguise as a boy to enter the military school. If she is discovered as a girl, she will be kicked out. She is desperate to hide from trackers who have been following her for a dozen years. No one would think to look for her in an all-male military school. She hides among werewolves and is one of the very few nonshifters at the school. She catches the new instructor's curiosity, and her identity is threatened. He claims to be her mate, but she knows that her kind don't have a mate and desperately tries to avoid him. If he stumbles upon her true identity, she is screwed. "What are you doing?!" growls his highness, ripping the knife from my hands. It tingles as his fingers close around my wrist. Fresh blood flows from the wound, turning his hands red. Deep throaty sounds, rumbling in his chest. "You hurt yourself," he says softly, pain evident in his voice. I look up and frown. "It's just a small cut," I reply, annoyed. None of the other cadets get this kind of attention. Besides, we have to learn this to pass the exam. "Shhh, it's going to be okay," he says, pressing me close. My whole side explodes with sparks. It tickles me. "You have to stop hurt yourself. Why are you even here? How am I going to protect you here?" he asks angrily. "I don't need your protection!" I shout, pushing him away. I get an angry growl back. Quickly I grab another knife and throws it over my shoulder, hitting bulls' eye. He glares at me, and the room has gone completely silent. That's when I discover that I may have gone too far with the insanely possessive highness, even though I'm grateful for the extra lessons he gives me. Then suddenly everyone hurries out of the training area. Leaving me alone with the growling, red eyed alpha. *This book contains graphic depictions of violence, sexuality, strong language, and other mature themes.* English is not my first language. PLEASE NOTE - YOU DO NOT HAVE TO READ THE KOLTC BOOKS; THIS CAN BE READ ALONE. But, of course, there will be spoilers but I WILL try to limit it. ------------------------- *I've tried to keep this book as close as it can to the real Keeper books, but I am not Shannon Messenger, but, hey, I tried* Following the sixth book, Impossible is a twist of plots, and it starts at Alvar's Tribunal. Something terrible happens, so terrible that Sophie has decided to make a decision. One that will not only impact herself, but her family, not only her family, but her friends, not only her friends and family, but the whole Lost Cities. "These past few years... they've been amazing, you guys," Sophie started off. "...wait for it, you guys... going to be a 'but.'" Keefe said. "But.." Sophie choked on her words. "But what?" Biana asked. "But... all good things come to an end. I've decided to go back...and I think it's permanent." Everyone in the room held their breath. Finally, Keefe had the courage to ask "Back where?" Sophie took a breath. "Back to the Forbidden Cities." What will happen to Sophie? What will happen to the Lost Cities, now that their moonlark is gone? What HAD happened that made Sophie make this life-changing decision? Read to find out! After Sophie fixes her conflict as mentioned above, more and more mayhem cooks up in the Lost Cities. Will Sophie ever find a way to have a normal life?
