"Cas, what you did back there. That was bad ass." Cory huffed as we literally ran for our lives.

I chuckled; out of breath. My throat stung from all the running and I could feel my pulse jumping ridiculously high.

"So were you back there Mr Pepper Spray, you saved me from being Creepy Al's dessert." I replied.

"Well you know what they say, pepper spray is the way to a man's heart."

I all but snorted in response.

"Who actually says that Cory?"

"I have no idea." He panted.

Whilst we dived into the ditch, on the side of the road where Cory's car was parked, empty. No Maia to be seen. Where the hell was she?
