I write this down quietly, alone, my hands trembling, causing the ink of the pen to smudge. A wave of emotions conquering my mind as I write it down into words. The unforgettable memories that made us who we are now, and the future we're all looking forward to; it was all being written down so casually. An encounter that changed her life, and one more encounter that no one saw coming, not even me. I write this letter for my best friend, for the future, and for the end we never saw coming.

"I'm sorry." I managed to croak. I reached out to touch his hand but he retracted it quickly and harshly. "What the fuck are you thinking? You love me, Penny." He yelled, looking at me sternly as I felt them again. Tears prickled at my eyes, I felt it again. All the pain was rushing back and it was because I realized in that moment that I was hurting the one I loved most. Harry. I loved Harry. But what was I supposed to do? Tell him now, when he was so mad at me. He leaned down to me and kissed me, but I couldn't react. I didn't, I didn't move, I didn't reach up to wrap my arms around him and my lips didn't feel. "Fucking react!" He yelled as he pulled away, making me cover my eyes with my forearm and roll over and cry. "I'm done Penny, either you love me or you don't. It's me or Louis. Make up you're mind." He told me before getting up and I saw Louis had left. He probably couldn't stand me or Harry. I couldn't stand myself. I was pathetic, weeping as I felt myself mutter. "I do love you."Complete

"Nothing makes you hurt like hurting who you love" Love shouldn't hurt, loving somebody with everything you have shouldn't make you feel like you're dying. Louis feels like he's drowning. He should have known where this was going from the start, he should have been prepared. Now he's waking up in an empty bed, some days he doesn't want to even wake up again. There's a hole in his heart; it's in the shape of Harry. Nothing he does can fill it. Drugs, alcohol, pouring out his heart into songs that Harry probably won't ever hear. When Louis is with him, he feels like he's in heaven. Being alone, that's what he feels he deserves, at least Harry can be happier without him. Maybe if they met at a different time, under different circumstances, he could have saved them. Louis had to do what was best for Harry, but it kills him a little everyday. Louis sees his smile everyday, but he knows it's no longer for him. Someone else makes Harry happier, but Louis wanted it to be him. They could have had forever. Louis would have given Harry everything. "Forget what I said, it's not what I meant" Harry had tried to say, but Louis knew that wasn't the truth.
