As she grew up she hid in the shadows of her sister. The golden child out of the two of them. She never felt understood. Til her junior year of high school when she found the baseball player that will change her forever. Foster care broke her as a child and so did everything else that she has had to go through as she grew up in the ghetto as a white girl that everyone swore was mixed. Watch as she fights for her reputation and what she wants to be. Ava- Growing up she went through hell. Her mother was into drugs and being away more then being a mother to her two children. She fights the urge to be what everyone expects her to be while her sister is the golden child without even trying. She has always been told that she will never be anything to anyone and that she will only be a problem to more people the more that they got to know her. Elijah- He's played sports since he was younger and has always prided himself on them. He tries to be what everyone wants and see's nothing wrong with being different. That just grows when he sees the same girl more then once. Every time she's around he cant help but to stare because of how she carries herself. He can tell that shes breaking inside without even knowing her as a person. The scariest part is that he wants to pick her up from the ashes that everyone has always buried her in. He doesn't know her story but he can see her under his arm and with him at the end of the day.

"My name's Elijah, by the way. It's nice to meet you, window-girl." She liked that name: Elijah. "I doubt you're even listening, but, look, I'm not here to cause problems, you know? I'm just here to chat. It can get lonely when we segregate ourselves into our own little world. I mean, maybe you like it in there," he continued, as she stared at the door separating them, "but, in case you don't, I'd like to offer my company." Instead of panicking, Liza could only focus on four words he'd said. 'Our own little world.' How had he known? She was in her own little world, consisting of her, her dog, the condo, and now, maybe . . .? Her voice was barely a croak when she spoke to him for the first time. "I'm listening." ***  A horribly tragedy left Liza Garner tucked inside her condo, the only safe place she knew, terrified of the outside world and the people within it. Especially men. A change in living brought Elijah Harris into a nice new neighborhood, and he'd never been afraid of knocking on others' doors and introducing himself. Especially if a pretty woman was on the other side. This is a story about mental health, the amazing impact certain individuals can have on one's personal journey, and how making progress-no matter how seemingly insignificant-is always impressive. *** PLEASE NOTE: Rated mature for language, topics, and detailed descriptions of gore.
