Meric is a young man hidden away from the outside world. He has lived a sheltered life, tucked away in an uninhabited forest. He lives in this forest alongside his overbearing father. Meric lives each day knowing he may never venture beyond the boundaries of his forest. That realization burdens him, but it doesn't stop him from dreaming about a life in the outside world. His sheltered life is a result of the curse he bears. Unimaginable power courses through his body. A power that could turn cities into smoking ruins of ash and cinders. A power he cannot control.
His world comes crashing to an end when a war between two rival Houses spill out into the forest. He wakes one night to find himself torn apart from the world he knows and the world he wishes to be a part of. A young witch stumbles upon his home, as she flees soldiers that would capture her. She and Meric flee into the woods and form a powerful bond. The choice he makes that night will set him on a path steeped in blood. He will learn the truth of what he is and the meaning behind his terrible power.
Meric finds himself in the service of a powerful House, acting as a warlock. He must fight alongside the witch he has bonded with. A young woman with tremendous power of her own. Meric is charged with keeping her safe, a task he struggles with on a daily basis. On the outside, she is a young girl with a quirky personality, but underneath it all lies the morbid personality of a madman. Death and carnage follow her wake as she dives headlong into the thickest of battles. Never fearing for her own life, she lives to sew mayhem. All the while dragging Meric along for the ride.

You need to learn that you won't be going anywhere. You're mine." With that being said, his other hand slides down to my waist "Your entire body, your mind, your soul. All mine."
