After Lillia and Koren Vandolf's parents were murdered by bandits and their house burned down ten years ago, they spent their childhood days in the Honorhall Orphanage in Riften, infamous for an abusive, alcoholic owner and many robberies. The only thing left of their childhood? A brass box left behind by Lillia and Koren's older sister who now went by a new name and face.

On Koren's eighteenth birthday, the siblings escape from Riften and become runaways, now on the search for their sister. However, along the way, they meet many interesting people they should've known better than to entangle themselves with, face many tragedies and hazards, and...possibly fall in love?

The Wildest Mikaelson... The Happy Homicidal Maniac... The Willy Fox... The Worst of the Worst... All names used to describe the youngest Mikaelson brother. Throughout his long life, Kol fancied himself the black sheep of the family, believing that his siblings considered him more of a nuisance than a brother. When Kol woke up after being daggered a century, he couldn't wait to leave Mystic Falls and his siblings behind. What Kol hadn't expected was to find an annoying young woman living in his older brother's house; even less did he expect said woman to possess a magic so fascinating that he simply couldn't leave until he'd found out what hid behind those innocent blue eyes.
