Athena was born into a criminally plagued family, and with criminals they never have it easy. It's the same with Athena, a unfortunate unbringing, traumatizing teenage years and now a risky young adulthood, Athena is just trying to stay alive. The best thing she has ever done for herself though, is meet Lorenzo. The man she didn't plan on bringing in but definitely the man she needed, and not in the way you think.

Trying to escape the plague her family had she robs a bank to gain enough money for a debt her father owed. Lorenzo is taken abruptly as her plan b get away ride to save her ass. What she doesn't account for is that Lorenzo becomes more than just her accidental accomplice but a true friend that shows her what she's been through is a lot and that what she has ahead of her is even better. From learning what true love is, how family is the best bond you'll ever have and that trauma can be a tough one to handle.
