Arlie is a 16 year old girl who is an only child, living with her single mother.
Arlie struggles with depression, anxiety, the loss of her father, and adhd which causes her to lock herself away from the world.
When Arlie starts to write about her feelings in her journal, she slowly breaks away from all of her insecurities.
She notices her self esteem boosting, she learns to socialize, she even falls in love with Brock Jacobs who is a player at heart.
