In the not too distant future, vampires are known and accepted into society. Well, generally accepted, other than the odd hate group and preacher. Oh, and the secret government organisation. Evie is the first vampire to have ever been cured from vampirism and become human again, against her will. The change causes many problems in her life, most of which has been spent with her vampire Maker and lover, Caius. After being one another's only companion for a hundred years, the couple find it very difficult to go on but little do they know, Evie's humanity is only the first bump in the very uneven road ahead.
