Owned

I was sold by my father when I was 10 years old to an old employer of my father's, Alan, who felt that my father's work did not suffice. I am now 26 years old and still find myself captive. I am allowed to go out once a week to get groceries but I am followed by two men. I have grown to make the best of my situation. I cook and clean the house for Alan, as well as serve him when he gets lonely. I have one friend down the road, that Alan is unaware of. He is an elderly man who lost his family years ago and keeps to himself with his plants. He has taught me a lot about them. Alan hired the best tutors to teach me the subjects I would have been taught in public school. I am not allowed to have a cell phone or allowed time on a computer without someone constantly looking over my shoulder. My room is full of books that I have read multiple times. They are my escape from my reality. The next thing I know I'm taken hostage by a group of men who swear they are trying to help me get my life back along with theirs. One of the men may really hold that freedom for me, along with a friendship, but can I trust them? I just want to be free.
