Shifting Shadows

Many are unaware of the Versipelle, a race of beings that were created by the merging of human souls and animal spirits, and yes, there is a difference. Few are chosen, and those who are graced with the gift are often aloof, and are uncomfortable with interaction with anyone not like themselves, or fully animal. Most don’t know what they really are until all the signs appear, but there are the fairly uncommon cases where one is told by another Versipelle. This, is one of those cases.
Zella Tala Sandrina is Versipelle, and a particularly powerful one at that. However, she doesn't quite know it yet. The only thing she knows is that she’s a human with odd traits that cause her to be bullied and teased mercilessly. However, she’s got other problems than her social rank in a human high school.
Running right into her past after years of being unaware of her powerful and unique status, and discovering her true identity and history, Zella struggles to fight through the doubts and lies that have remained hidden until now. Will she be able to hold on to what matters most, fulfill her purpose, and make it through the storm, or will she be sucked into the chaos surrounding her?
