For many long years, the Greenwood was a place of beauty. Until a sickness started to fester within the heart of the forest, a sickness that spread through the woods and brought darkness with it so black, it ate away all the light. Slowly but surely, Idhren, the new captain of the guard and as loyal to the king as one can be, sees her beloved land and her beloved king fall victim to this darkness. Still, she does everything in her power to save whatever she can, finding herself in more and more dangerous situations. All to keep the darkness from fully taking her home, her king. But will she be able to fulfill her task before running out of time? Because when darkness falls, there is no light that can save you. © leespace 2015

Being a king is hard. Raising a son is hard. Living with eternal grief is hard. King Thranduil is just trying to keep his kingdom running and his son safe when an elf is found with orcs at the border of Greenwood. Who could this mysterious elf truly be? But then the elf he rescued in the forest grows closer to Legolas, and Thranduil can not help but enjoy her company as well. Darkness descends over the forest, all because of this one elf. When lives are threatened, Thranduil must make a choice: his kingdom or his heart. 12/14/21- y'all I wrote this in high school and I kinda want to go through it again and do a bunch of editing. Some of my writing makes me cringe and what are we here for if not improvement. That being said, this story will change starting today probably and if you're in the middle of it, hopefully I don't confuse details or timelines for you. If you've already read it once and just felt like you had to read it again, maybe it will provide some new enjoyment. Who knows? Maybe I'll actually finish some other stuff I have on here.
