She's her school newspaper's star columnist, and hopes to win a scholarship to the University of Missouri's School of Journalism next year. When Riley starts using her column to call out racism in Annieville High, she begins to fall out of favor with her teachers and friends. After her principal's condemnation of Riley's commentary on race goes viral on social media, Riley finds herself in a world beyond her control.
