At 16 years old Amelia Krishna, lost her twin brother, Asher, to cancer and has not been able to move on since. At his funeral her mom gave her a notebook full of letters from him. A year later, Amelia's mom decides it's time for a change. They move to California in the early summer with their grandparents, hoping for a fresh start. Usually all the Cali kids in the summer are out at the beach surfing or getting tan, but Amelia stays in her room for the first month, still mourning over her brother's death. That is until her grandma introduces her to there neighbor Sky, who is a pro surfer. With him around she gets out of her shell and opens out. With a possible romance blossoming between them, how can she not feel guilty for moving on from her brother, to a new happier life? That would be what he wanted, right?
