A Gothic retelling of the Wizard of Oz.
An earthquake has hit Fresno, California sending Dory and her black cat, Toby, through the earth and into the Underworld, where she must travel to the City of Dead to find the Dread Phantom of Ooze in an attempt to get back home.
Along the way she forms unlikely friendships with a zombie, a creature and a werewolf who accompany her in hopes that the Dread Phantom will give them what they desire too.
As Dory finds out it doesn't hurt (not badly anyway) to have such friends when you're just a girl in a land of giants, apocalyptic horsemen and where the pigs fly.

Okay, so I'm really bad at descriptions so here's my attempt at a small summary: Basically the protagonist of this story is searching for her friends little sister who's gone missing. Her search brings her to an unsavoury location, and the awful weather isn't helping her out much either. As she journeys deeper she soon realises that her suspicions were correct - an old 'friend' has returned, and this time they don't plan on letting our protagonist get away... So how was that?
