Underneath It All (001xY/N fanfiction) by NovaCarlson
8 parts Ongoing
Y/N doesn't care if she survives the game. At 18, she's already been through more than most people her age could even imagine. She moved to Korea hoping for a fresh start, but instead, she got buried in debt. Life's been tough, and it's clear that it doesn't care about her, just like the games she's stuck in. Sarcastic, defiant, and independent, Y/N isn't here to make friends or play nice. Her plan is simple: survive each round and keep her head down. But one player won't leave her alone. Oh Young-il, Player 001, seems harmless at first. He's older, quiet, and mostly just watches everyone else. He steps in to help when no one else will, acting like an ally to the struggling players. Y/N doesn't trust him. She's seen enough to know that kindness doesn't come for free. What she doesn't know is that Young-il is hiding a huge secret. He's actually Hwang In-ho, the Frontman of the games. His whole persona is a lie, made up to sabotage Seong Gi-hun's plan to stop the game. By pretending to be a friend, In-ho keeps the game-and his control-running smoothly. Y/N's sharp tongue and stubborn attitude catch In-ho's eye right away. She doesn't back down, no matter how tough things get. At first, In-ho's interested because she could be useful, either as an ally or a threat. But the more he watches her, the harder it is to stay distant. Y/N makes it clear she doesn't need Young-il's protection. But as the games get worse, their paths keep crossing, and they start to form an uneasy alliance. In-ho finds himself drawn to her, even though he knows it's dangerous for both of them. PS: Y/N's appearance is left up to your imagination. Feel free to picture her however you like, whether it's her age, look, or style-she can be anyone you want her to be.
