Charlotte "Charlie" Rogers-Stark is a twenty-four-year-old archaeologist with a seriously powerful family. Due to some unfortunate twist of fate (and a psychotic ex), she ends up on Asgard for safety. In an even more interesting twist, Loki is proclaimed her bodyguard to further his search for redemption. After a few clashes, the two agree to a truce and a somewhat dysfunctional bond is created. Now the two have to deal with a new threat to the safety of Asgard and Charlie personally has to face revelations about herself and her mysterious history. (All events after the Avengers do not happen in this universe, so it's slightly AU.)

On Asgard, Odin is critically ill, possibly even dying. Odin has banished Loki to Midgard for all eternity. Odin has sent for Thor to take the throne but Thor refuses because he doesn't want to leave Jane. Thor convinces Odin to lift Loki's banishment, so that Loki can take the throne. Odin then sends Thor to Midgard to find Loki. With the help of Heimdall, Thor finds Loki. He's singing in a Midgardian rock band. When Loki arrives at Avengers Tower to talk to Thor, Loki tells Thor that he won't leave without the young woman because he has chosen her as his queen. When Loki tells the young woman that he wants her to go back to Asgard with him as his queen, her brother refuses to let her go. This makes the young woman mad, and she decides to go back with Loki just to spite her brother. Now Loki must convince this high-spirited young woman that he really loves her. While on Asgard, the young woman starts to develop feelings for Loki and ends up falling in love with him. One beautiful night on Asgard, Odin was holding a ball at the royal palace for his two sons in hopes of finding them wives. The palace was buzzing with all sorts of royalty mingling with the royal family. There's a beautiful young goddess at the ball with her parents, Aphrodite. the goddess of love and Hermes. the messenger of the gods. The goddess Aphrodite introduces her daughter to Loki, but the young goddess is very shy so, she shies away from him. Loki is drawn to the young goddess. He finds her shyness endearing and wishes to get to know her better. Unbeknownst to Loki, Aphrodite and Hermes are just using their daughter as a pawn to get close to the throne as well as acquiring a piece of Asgardian land. When Loki finds out what her parents are up to, he's even more determined to get her away from her parents so they can't use her anymore. Conflict in soothes between Loki and the young goddess' parents. The young goddess' parents try to come between Loki and young goddess. They even go as far as sending her brother to try and bring her back to Olympus. Much to the dismay of Aphrodite and Hermes the young goddess' brother and Loki become fast friends due to the care that they share for the young goddess.
