Sirens were abound in the deadly waters, and those who heard their call rarely made it out alive with the skin on their backs. When a pirate ship crashed into a jagged rock bay, Murdoc Niccals thought he had met his fate after he was blamed for the wreckage and cast overboard, his body chained to an old anchor. But when a mysterious siren spared his life with a kiss that granted him gills, he knew it was only the beginning of a new life. He could have never predicted to have fallen in love with one of the nasty creatures, but it seems their bond was growing and somehow, the siren himself seemed more.... Human each day.
(AU belongs to Emily.n.lee on Instagram, I'm just obsessed with it all and it's so perfect and Sfkglsl I HAD to write a story out of it because it was eating me alive. I plan to post this story every 2 weeks or bi-monthly, depending on school and stuff but this isn't a promise since I'm not always writing and I was never really much of a writer to begin with.)

The Siren's Call
➖After her mother's death, seventeen year old Karis tries to drown herself and is mysteriously saved by a boy who assumed she was unconscious. But some things he says don't add up, and he realizes the consequences of his actions, since saving drowning humans is against the law. So he gives her two choices: Never speak a word of what happened and go back to whatever life she despised so much, Or Come with him to an underwater city she never thought existed. After choosing the latter in a risky gamble, both her and the boy might be in for more than they bargained for when they discover the city is under attack. Will they be able to save it and the people in it in time, or will following the boy be a big mistake? Not like they intended to do that, it's the only way to have your life back. Anyways, isn't it ironic for a siren to switch lives with a human is through a kiss? A person with a broken heart should be cared for and is not something to play around with. Rules change in the ocean, heartbroken people are what sirens strive for. Most of the time it doesn't matter because at one point, they were heart broken. The gods above must've took a pity on us. Our painful feelings leave us, creating a clueless monster with no pain. The poor siren has no memory of their past life except for a certain hobby. It's not the worst thing; sirens get another try when they find another heartbroken fellow.
