Dan got pushed from family to family, whilst the foster home, the infamous home of the foul smiles, continued to be the place he always returned to. One day, a woman who was familiar to Dan showed up. She promptly decided that she would adopt him with no further questions asked.
 
Dan couldn't seem to get used to his new home. It was open and welcoming, but so unfamiliar and cold all at once. He missed his only friend, Louise. He wasn't used to sleeping alone, without having her next to him, saying calming words in a hushed voice until he falls asleep. 
 He pushed through school and ignored everyone who tried to talk to him or got in his way, until there was someone he couldn't ignore anymore - A clumsy girl named Mitch and her quirky best friend who did not seem to want to talk to Dan, either. 
In a world where everything around Dan constantly changed so much that he got used to it, how was he going to get settled? When everything seemed inconsistent and temporary, how was he ever going to find stability, and something to hold on to?All Rights Reserved
