There's not much to say about a town like Ruby. It's that classic small town that every story is based in. If Dillon from Friday Night Lights was a real town, it'd be Ruby. Only one thing matters in these towns, and that's football. You're either a football player or a cheerleader, whether you get to wear the cute skirt or not. Kids go to school and adults go to work Monday through Friday. Adults get off work early on Fridays and close up shop in order to get to the field on time. If you're not at the game on Friday night, you're a heretic. If you're not on the team, you don't really even matter. But this story... It's about the Renegades, but it's not. It's really not. Just in a story in a town like Ruby where nothing but football matters, the story is always going to involve football. But this isn't a football story. This isn't going to be the story of how the Renegades fight their way to the state championship just to lose in the last seconds. This isn't going to be the story of how the Renegades rebuild after some tragedy. This isn't going to be the story of how the Renegades collapse. The Captains
A football player and a cheerleader. The ideal and stereotypical couple right? Think again. Grayson Cooper charming, attractive, and stereotypically arrogant. They moved from Arizona to California. About 1/4 into her junior year, Riley had to go to a new school, and make new friends. She didn't really care about having friends though, as long as she was able to play soccer, she would be okay. Soccer had always been there for her, when her mom died, when she didn't have anyone else, when she was in a bad mood. It was always there for her to play. She didn't need anyone else. That changed when she met Brooke Eckmann. Brooke is also a junior in high school, and is the varsity teams goalie. When they first meet on the field, it was something different. She couldn't stop thinking about her. It was something both of them had never felt before. Everyone fears him, knowing damn well that he's the kind of guy that won't hesitate to send you crying just for breathing in his direction. Well, everyone but Veronica Stone. Veronica Stone is the captain of the school's girls soccer team and everyone knows that's she's one of the best female player in the country. Unlike Blake, Veronica is known as the girl that's always seen with a smile on her face. She has guys after her, but she doesn't even know about it. Well, other than Blake Wilder. At first, the two can't stand each other, but what happens when they realize that they're basically forced to tolerate each other? Blake and Veronica think they're polar opposites, little do they know, they're more a like than they even realized. I know I suck at descriptions but please consider giving this book a chance.
