he stood on the balcony, of the beautiful hotel that him and his team were staying at, in the city of romance and dreams. she stood next to him, mirroring his posture, leaning over the railing.
"i found out what i needed, jay." he said, breaking the comfortable silence that the two shared. she looked up from the cigarette that was balanced between her fingers, and focused her gaze onto the gorgeous man to the left of her.
"and what was that?" she asked, bringing the cigarette back up to her lips, taking a deep inhale, and blowing it out. the smoke temporarily clouded the sight of the beautiful scenery the two had been staring at for hours.
"it was you," he said, taking a drag of his own cigarette, before flicking it off the nineteenth story balcony, and turning to the beautiful woman on his right. "i've always felt like there was apart of me that was missing, and i've been searching for years," he said, taking a step closer to her, "then, i came here, and i found you, and now i feel complete. it was you, jay. only you."
Voicemail, yet again.
Taking a deep breath, I start the message.
"Hey, I've called you again. This is the last one, I swear. Remember when we would chat forever and ever? We would always drink hot coffee together and talk about our pointless day. It was a daily thing, until you found someone else to occupy your time. I wasn't needed anymore, so you cast me out. I'm in our place, same spot. When you decide to meet me again, I'll be here. I won't talk to you. All that I will spare you is a small glance and some cold coffee."
Ending the voicemail, I collapse back into the chair and wait for the response that will never come.
