"They come when I call." she whispered, stroking the hulking creature beside her.
The beast bared it's teeth and I began inching farther away. I looked up in fear to the girl standing beside it, trembling from head to toe.
"What do you want with me?" I choked out, my voice so small and weak.
The girl's eyes filled with hunger, and she smiled, leaning down near the beast's pointed ear.
"The boy fears you, love," she crooned to the animal, still petting its large, muscle sinewed body.
I took a deep breath, steadying myself and preparing to run. The dead leaves shifted underneath my feet as I positioned myself.
The girl narrowed her eyes and scowled, removing her hand from her pet's body. Her eyes gleamed with rage and disgust.
"Kill him."
