Jada's phone lit up distracting her from the blank Microsoft Word document that sat in front of her, just mocking her. She knew damn well that it made absolutely no sense for not even a few words to sit across that page on her open laptop. She really didn't know where to begin, she had no clue what to even type. If this was a school assignment, baby girl would have knocked it out of the park. Even wrote more than the required amount of words, just to show off her expertise on the "Studied/Researched" topic.
This was different... it was time to put her "Author" skills to the test and prove she was a writer. A creative and brilliant artist, that painted a picture the moment you laid eyes on it. Nothing that had already been done before... she needed fresh, unseen and most importantly she needed quality. Perfection was how Jada wanted... no needed, her work to be. We all know that doesn't exist though... right? Nah... Jada believed in something at least close to it. She definitely felt like something was placed here from God himself, her better half. Some Ying to match her Yang. She just needed to find it... now that of course can represent a lot of things... but for now we are discussing her writing... trust the other subjects aren't too far behind. Before we start I have to ask...

*please I wrote this story at 16/17. I'm 28 and I crying because I would rewrite this in a heartbeat especially coz I sound crazy* so read with caution* I fell in love. I fell in love with a fairytale. Oh Yes I did. You know that one story that gives every little girl hope out there that good things comes to those who wait even in rare but simple gems like a glass slipper. This hope carried me far and beyond. It's a fairytale that is relatable to any prospect of life. There will be your evil stepmother and evil stepsisters, your fairy godmother and your one true prince. It is a fairytale that understands the element of surprise: That what we seek can sometimes appear right in front of us without knocking on our doors. Most especially, it's a fairytale that understand the importance of love: A true prince may not come in shape of perfection but regardless of the imperfections and flaws, he would still remain perfect in your eyes. Regardless of its flaws, Africa was my father and Nigeria was my prince. Africa was my birthplace, born to the greatest warriors on the planet: Shaka Zulu, Nelson Mandela, Cleopatra, Kofi Annan even Didier Drogba the famous footballer. Most especially it was my home. My sister has always attracted the wrong crowd who didn't hesitate to take advantage of her meek heart. Right from small, Zikora's naïvety always made me fight with every single one of her 'friends'.
