On opening night of the stage play, Perkins' Ghost, at the Astor Theatre, a shocking murder had occurred, leaving many residents of the sleepy hollow to suspect that the murderer might have been that of the ghost of Simeon Perkins. With virtually no clues to follow, apart from the unexplained sightings of a Perkins look-alike, clairvoyants, fortune cookies, intuitions and a seemingly odd connection between the murder or murderer and the Kings Orange Rangers. Sergeant Hill wondered if the murderer would ever be found.  
The little town of Liverpool, Nova Scotia, once booming with industry, had settled into itself. Ancient trees lined the streets, dappling patterns on the Colonial and Victorian homes. It was a quiet place, where retirees settled and where tourists went to soak up Canadian history or to sit alongside the Mersey River, watching as it glided by while listening to birds twittering in the trees. When William returns from the eastern woods, he is told about the deaths of four outlanders happened in the renouned, old mansion in the east of town of Zora. Initially hesitant to entertain the curiosity- not willing to plung into his connection concealed within the mansion's history-his resolve wavers. That is, after his encounter with a once-mighty warrior, now enslaved and haunted by his past from the far East of the world. That changes everything. °°° This is the story closest to me and the very reason I even considered of learning the art of storytelling. This story is everything to me.

To make matters worse, Bell, my twin sister, contracted "The Wasting." No doubt she caught it by helping the kids in the Forbidden Zones. That's where all the mutant freaks live. Not just your usual freaks but kids with missing limbs, half a face, twisted spines... My witch of a mother thinks it's from the nuke plants leaking after the purple lights lit up the skies. The preggo's babies turned into monsters. Due to Bell's bleeding heart she only has a month to live. Grandpa says he knows this invisible guy with a cure, (yeah right... what you've been sniffing Grandpa?) He's disappeared and so close to "Recycling" age. Now it's up to me and only me, Izzy Quest, a freaked out teen from Brooklyn, to save my dying twin sister. You may have guessed by now, I'm not the save-the-day-sort--Bell is. She's the sweet, honest, dependable, pretty twin. Don't believe me? Ask my lunatic of a mother. "You look like Bell; try acting like her." If Bell had to save me, she'd be all organized with sticky notes and a compass. Me? What do I have but OCD, a short fuse and a cynical attitude. Oh, but I can run--fast. March 24th, 2014: Kevin Vásquez goes missing. April 9th, 2015: Kevin's remains are found. March 24th, 2016: Ricardo receives a message from an unknown number, the messenger claims to be Kevin. He's asking for help. He's not dead. He wants to come home. ~~~ "They all thought he died. Apparently they were dead wrong." The day of the two year anniversary after his foster brother's disappearance, Ricardo Vásquez receives a message from an unknown number. The sender claims to be his brother, Kevin and sends what can only be classified as irrefutable evidence that he's alive. But it can't be Kevin, right? Kevin was murdered. Kevin's remains were found. Valerie Hudson and Brianna Sawyer left their small town life and went to the city to make a successful career. Both of them were happy until they found out their high school best friend, Rosalind McAllister was murdered. So, they both go back to their hometown, Maplebirch to attend the funeral, just to find out that the police think that it was a suicide. But it doesn't fit because Rosalind was the perfect human being. She was selfless, happy, helping and loving. She would never think of hurting herself, let alone killing. After the case is closed, Rosalind's posse is all distressed. They decided to meet at a restaurant to talk and when they order their bill, they also get a note which says that Rosalind was in fact murdered and the person who wrote it knows who killed Rosalind. All they have to do is follow the clues and obey the rules and it would lead them straight to the killer. They were all afraid but also knew that it needed to be done as they all had something to be guilty of and deep down they all blamed themselves for her death. Started: 23rd January 2020. Ended: TBA.

And it wasn’t long before she got married and started riding the Wall of Death as a living with her husband. And so in honour of that century-ago effort of hers, I reproduced in the ePub, as she typed it errors and all (or what I suppose to be errors as grammar is different between countries and eras), the story my mother – her daughter – found recently in an old envelope postmarked from London 6:15 pm 23 SP 19 (23 September 1919) to Miss D.
