Meet Emma Kane; it's more than likely you've already heard of her. She's America's golden girl, a dazzling chart-topper with the kind of meteoric rise to fame you'd find in a fairytale. Her kilowatt smile is plastered on every tabloid, her voice plays nonstop on the radio, and every concert that she performs is to a sold-out stadium.

Meet Emma Kane. She's just another teenage girl, a sort-of loner who just barely fits in. Most of her free time is spent playing the guitar in her room or scribbling down lyrics, because music is the only thing in which she can really let herself go. Maybe someday she'll sing for real, live people instead of bedroom walls. Then again, maybe not.

This is not the tale of an international superstar. This is not about red carpets, paparazzi, or double platinum albums.

This is the story of a girl before the spotlight.
