A second generation of Handmaids. Daughters of the families that were conceived through Handmaids, taken from their birth mothers and given to the elite, wealthy couples who were infertile. However, when these girls come of age, their fate depends on their fertility. Sara learns her future is that of her mother, her real mother, who's arms she was ripped from. Who was never seen again.

As he go's around in fear of all that is around him since he was bullied from a young age and being threatened by his parents' killer his whole life, he makes an unlikely friend who no doubt helps him along his journey to get his life in order and find out what really happened in his past.

Through this obligation alone, Charlotte feels like it is her responsibility to get Emmi back, to right her wrong. In helping Nate pursue his kidnapped daughter, Charlotte inadvertently allows herself to feel again, to care for those other than herself. But with the clock ticking, Charlotte's new found family may just end up like her own, dead and destroyed, if Emmi is exposed to the disease that her father tried so hard to protect her from.
