2015. In San Diego, panic breaks out, stemming out from a small group of one hundred patients. In the middle of a school year, both parents leave Austen home, and tasks her with the responsibility of taking care of his younger brother, Jacob. After the devastating emergence of X27, she finds herself caught inside a new hellish new world, lurking with the trudging undead. DC is overrun, and San Diego is quarantined. Austen must adapt to her new surroundings quickly and unite with other survivors in order to survive. But how far will she go? For Protection? For Freedom? For safety?

Mark is a student of Classroom 5-B, which is part of a private high school academy originating from Salt Lake City, Utah. On a field study of the west coast, he wakes up to find himself dragged into the front lines of the most dangerous virus the world has ever seen. Working together alongside his friends and classmates, he primarily only has one goal in mind: to return home.
