The year is 2016.
A world filled with superpowered beings, Earth, stands superior to every other planet in the universe.
This is a story of how we, The Palates, rose from the crowds and saved the world.
Okay, okay, scratch everything that I've said. Truth is, life is shit. Everything is a lie.
First of all, we're not heroes. We... kinda broke the Eiffel Tower, twice... same goes with other historical monuments.
It's a long story.
And second of all, we didn't save the world. We just tried to save our sorry butts from one overpowered guy who kept a consistent record of tracking us.
We got our powers from a (insert spoiler here) which kinda blew us all up into crashing into different parts of the world, being away from each other.
Our first year as "Heroes" was all about everyone looking for each other, hoping to be reunited once again.
So if you want to read up on a story filled with awkward heroes, sudden breakdowns, emo villains, overpowered people, pulverized tourist destinations, and last minute world saves that don't even matter, then this long long journey is just for you.
And though we aren't the greatest superheroes out there, unlike Astros or Pulse, and though it wasn't ever our choice to have powers or be The Palates, we, will still do our best...
To save the world.

🚨DISCONTINUED🚨 i re-read this book and... well, comparing it to my latest works, it kinda sucks. the story is good and i like where it was going. i just... don't like it anymore. plus, with season 5 out now, i have to rethink my original ending and everything. i am rewriting it. it'll have an oc, an new kwami and a whole new backstory, so a lot is gonna change. i don't know when i'll start posting it but i promise it'll be better than this. thank you for enjoying this one if you decided to read it :) ------------------- (Y/N) has just moved to France. She is a spunky, athletic (sorry if you're not), and an incredibly observant person. Naturally, when villains start attacking Paris and heroes are saving the day, she recognizes her friends, Marinette and Adrien as the superheroes, immediately. Being their bestest friend ever, however, Y/N doesn't tell anybody that she knows and tries her hardest to cover for them when they're late or are struggling to come up with an excuse; plus she joins in on adventures often. Join Y/N on this dangerous and love filled adventure of villains and magic. -Warning: this does contain violence, strong language, sexual activity and mature themes. Beware. The Path to Hell
The world is a dangerous place. Men and women with power that leaves the world and all the insignificant lives upon it at their mercy. Many choose to exercise that power for selfish means, but a small group, a fraction of them; chose to use their power to defend the weak. They are the heroes of this world, the ones who risk their lives and sacrifice everything they are just to protect those that cannot protect themselves from the villains who would take everything from them. Yet even these heroes, are flawed. They are not perfect despite their image of such. They are not all-powerful despite their actions speaking to the contrary. They make mistakes, allow emotion to cloud their judgement, and allow pride to stay their hand. Villains are not born, they are made and often, they are made by the very heroes who fight to defend this world. These villains, in turn, make the heroes who fight them. A constant cycle that seems to have no end in sight, but ultimately, there is always something that changes. The world is never predictable, never simple, and always changes. Outliers and anomalies have come about many a time in the course of this cycle, but from this cycle, one rises that was different to the rest. He breaks the cycle and wades through the world of heroes and villains, forged by his actions and the actions of those around him. His goals are simple, and the steps he takes to reach them are long and arduous. Each one is a struggle, but one that brings him ever closer to the end. However, often, the road to hell is paved with good intentions and as his journey progresses, the world suffers the consequences.
Heroes at Heart

Super Thieves
It's no secret that some people use their unique gifts to do good, and some use them to do evil. Your classic heroes and villains, if you will. But what about the middle people? The people born with powers, not the kinds that let you fly, or crush cars with your mind, or turn your enemies into puddles of goo before you, the ones that are not quite considered "super". What are they supposed to do? Their powers aren't strong enough to categorize them as hero or villain. Imagine Knife Man or Spoon Girl with the power to control cutlery, do you honestly think they would hold up in a fight against anyone else? Being a superhero without powers is hard enough, being a superhero with a useless super power is damn impossible. Andrew, Carter, and Heather knew that their unique abilities would be worthless if they made themselves full time heroes or villains. Instead, they use their "uselessness" to their advantage. The trio makes their living in their own respected fields, but they come together as the best band of thieves in the world. Nobody would ever suspect three seemingly innocent young adults of 45 high profile theft cases. There is nothing extraordinary about them after all, no crazy hair colors, no fire blasting out of their mouths. It's the perfect cover. When the group steals a valuable, but at the same time worthless, artifact from a museum in Tokyo, they find themselves caught in the crossfire between the National Superhero League and a new super villain on the rise. Loving A Villain
I shouldn't have been walking around alone at night. I shouldn't have stopped and watch the obviously crazy man set the building on fire. And I sure of hell shouldn't have accidentally caught his attention. Then maybe, just maybe I wouldn't have been kidnapped by the world's most evil super villain. And then hopefully right now I wouldn't be wishing that he wasn't completely crazy, and wanted to kill every super hero in the world, and that he would, I don't know, take me to the movies, hold my hand as we walked together, or maybe take me to dinner one night. You know normal, cute couple stuff. Instead he likes to kick puppies when no ones watching, dropping me from high buildings, and throwing people into traffic, annoyingly. Maybe if I had just minded my own business and kept walking, maybe I wouldn't have been taken by someone who's whole mission in life is to watch every super die, and cackle evilly while he thinks of it. Maybe if I had just minded my own business and kept walking, maybe I wouldn't start feeling bad for this super villain. Maybe I wouldn't be questioning everything I've ever learned about him. Saving A Villain
SEQUEL TO LOVING A VILLAIN There were sparks when we met, but not the kind that you would think. One look at him quite literally knocked me out. Seriously. I was unconscious. He was not some shining hero on a white horse, who swooped in and saved the day. No he put the Hero's head through a wall and laughed. Overall, he and I are a complete shit show. Complete. Shit show. He isn't nice. Or kind. Or hell, even legally decent. And he sure as hell isn't sane. Through all his shitty qualities, the villainous attitude, and even all the multiple attempts on my life.
