The year is 2016.

A world filled with superpowered beings, Earth, stands superior to every other planet in the universe.

This is a story of how we, The Palates, rose from the crowds and saved the world.


Okay, okay, scratch everything that I've said. Truth is, life is shit. Everything is a lie.
First of all, we're not heroes. We... kinda broke the Eiffel Tower, twice... same goes with other historical monuments.
 It's a long story.

And second of all, we didn't save the world. We just tried to save our sorry butts from one overpowered guy who kept a consistent record of tracking us. 


We got our powers from a (insert spoiler here) which kinda blew us all up into crashing into different parts of the world, being away from each other.
Our first year as "Heroes" was all about everyone looking for each other, hoping to be reunited once again.

So if you want to read up on a story filled with awkward heroes, sudden breakdowns, emo villains, overpowered people, pulverized tourist destinations, and last minute world saves that don't even matter, then this long long journey is just for you.
And though we aren't the greatest superheroes out there, unlike Astros or Pulse, and though it wasn't ever our choice to have powers or be The Palates, we, will still do our best...

                                      To save the world.

"In a world where Grimm, Danger Beasts, Monsters, and notorious villains run rampant, there are those who stand against them. Benders, Huntsmen, Heroes, people who have the power to fight them, for the sole purpose of defending the innocent. At least some of them. Other guys just want to prove how powerful they are, and push around people without powers. I learned that the hard way. My name is Y/n Tennyson. I'm 20 years old, and I am in possession of the most powerful alien weapons, in the universe. When I was little, people like Bakugo and Issei picked on me everyday, just because I was too powerless to do anything. So one day, I decided to drop out of Union Academy and went on a cross country road trip with my grandpa and cousin. Then on our first stop, I went out on a walk where a meteor fell out of the sky and crashed right in front of me. But, as it turns out, it wasn't a meteor, but a pod containing a watch that, once stuck upon your wrist, could turn you into any alien you want. Needless to say that my life went uphill from there. I traveled across the galaxy, saved it from blowing up. Fought a giant alien, AS a giant alien. Stopped a race from destroying the universe. Blew up my watch. Got a new one. Dated a tennis player, and broke up with her. Fought a giant alien, as a giant alien AGAIN, this time in Tokyo. Killed an interdimensional demon along with my archnemesis. And made friends with a Slimebiote named Skurd. Now me and my friends are unlicensed heroes who defend the world from destruction. Mainly because it's the right thing to do, but partially to show Union Academy what kind of hero I am now. And I can't wait to see the look on their faces." It's no secret that some people use their unique gifts to do good, and some use them to do evil. Your classic heroes and villains, if you will. But what about the middle people? The people born with powers, not the kinds that let you fly, or crush cars with your mind, or turn your enemies into puddles of goo before you, the ones that are not quite considered "super". What are they supposed to do? Their powers aren't strong enough to categorize them as hero or villain. Imagine Knife Man or Spoon Girl with the power to control cutlery, do you honestly think they would hold up in a fight against anyone else? Being a superhero without powers is hard enough, being a superhero with a useless super power is damn impossible. Andrew, Carter, and Heather knew that their unique abilities would be worthless if they made themselves full time heroes or villains. Instead, they use their "uselessness" to their advantage. The trio makes their living in their own respected fields, but they come together as the best band of thieves in the world. Nobody would ever suspect three seemingly innocent young adults of 45 high profile theft cases. There is nothing extraordinary about them after all, no crazy hair colors, no fire blasting out of their mouths. It's the perfect cover. When the group steals a valuable, but at the same time worthless, artifact from a museum in Tokyo, they find themselves caught in the crossfire between the National Superhero League and a new super villain on the rise. And since the heroes can't seem to be doing their one job right, the group steps out of the shadows and takes matters into their own hands.

Our story starts in a bright city, with a boy and his team, fighting for their government, and believing the world is fine as is. But our story also starts with a girl and her team, fighting desperately against the government for their perfect world. Both part of the select families gifted with powers hundreds of years ago. Andromeda - an Icarus Guard rebel, able to control bravery and fear, only wants for the government to fall and to take her mother who abandoned her with it. Sebastian - a White Wing soldier by birth, believes without the current government it would be chaos, and that the rebels should be taken out. When the two meet and are forced to work together, who knows what will happen to the government, and everyone caught in their crosshairs. He knows who I am. He knows how I look like. He knows where I work so possible knows where I live. I am not safe anymore... no where. While I was in my own world I heard faint sounds behind me but I didn't bother to look or run away. The footsteps got closer and I was pretty sure it was Walker's men. I should run. I should try to fight. But what's the point in trying to run away? He would eventually find me and if he has his way he would most likely kill me. If this is my fate then why am I trying to fight it? I felt someone harshly grab my waist and pull me up and I complied. They dragged me down the alley and into the busy street. I heard the opening of a car and the next thing I knew I was being thrown into a car. My head hit the hard leather seat and the door shut behind me. Maybe this is how my life will end. Maybe I should just let it happen. Maybe I was destined to die alone as a no one. With that I let the darkness consume me.
