The last eight years of Allyson's life have been dominated by caring for her mother driven mad by a tragic, and peculiar, loss. She is used to her mother's incessant ramblings of a "them" and dark twists on the wondrous stories of a curious land she was told as a child. She has resigned herself to a life as a shadow to madness. But one night, a finding introduces her to a whole other world.

Allyson slips through to Wonderland, a land straight out of her mother's tales. Encountering creatures that spout riddles and curiosity, she stumbles along in a world not her own. Yet insanity seems to follow her through as she discovers a deadly connection to Wonderland.

Hunted by the volatile Queen of Hearts, Allyson escapes back to New York through the rabbit hole. However, she's not entirely there. Sporadically blacking out and transported back and forth to Wonderland, Allyson finds the only way to save herself from the madness might be to lose herself to it.
