Ngunit, pinauwi siya ng kanyang mga magulang sa Zambales at inayos ang kasal para sa kanya. Pinalitan ni Iris ang kasintahan nito bilang kanyang mapapangasawa. Ngunit ayaw niya rito, gayunpaman, hindi niya mababago ang desisyon ng kanyang mga magulang at sila ay nagpakasal. Trinato niya ito ng malamig dahil hindi pa rin niya nakakalimutan ang trahedya.
