Camila e Lauren se conheceram durante uma viagem da dona de casa pra Nova York. Lauren uma fotógrafa em ascensão, e Camila recém-separada tentando se reencontrar, ambas com 25 anos na época.
A paixão foi imediata, e logo tudo que começou como uma aventura se transformou em amor. Amor que foi concretizado com a filha que elas tiveram juntas.
Porém a vida tão feliz do casal sofreu um revés, quando Camila decide voltar para o Rio de Janeiro, deixando Lauren e a bebê recém-nascida sozinhas em Nova York.
Seis anos mais tarde, é vez de Lauren voltar para o Rio de Janeiro, e ter sua vida virada de cabeça para baixo, com o reencontro inesperado do amor do passado.
