There was a forest on the edge of a forgotten housing development. These trees were a lot of things - served as a lot of things - some good, some bad. Most of the trees simply served as a welcome deviation, an isolation that was deliciously theirs, away from the cares of the world they normally inhabit. As such, the woods could be construed as a sort of 'hangout' for the neighborhood children. Groups of all ages would spend their time playing, talking, or exploring the woods. The woods were theirs and they were the wood's. The woods were, for all intents and purposes, normal. They were quiet, good-natured, and some might argue even boring most days. However, there was an interesting trait that these very same woods possessed. It was really only discovered by the children of the neighborhood because only children would bother to hike through the muck and heavy underbrush to get as deep in the woods as possible -and then farther. It was only in the deepest dark heart of the forest that one would discover "The Forest of the Setting Sun" It's here that the world stands still. No matter the time you enter, or how long you stay there, it will forever and always be sunset, dusk, twilight, evening, et cetera et cetera whatever title fits one's fancy. Those woods were theirs and they were the wood's. What one finds in the forest is different for each being that enters it. And so, the stories that persist amongst the youths that live in this forgotten suburb vary from person to person.

In a time long gone, everything was perfect. There were three species that ruled the world: Elves, Gods, and Humans. They lived in a perfectly balanced world for thousands of years until an unfortunate turn of events caused the elves to be banished to the trees, the gods to the skies, and the humans to the grounds. Inevitably, the two greater powers began a cataclysmic war. Today, thousands of years later, is when things start to take an unexpected turn. Victoria Fugo is an orphan. Her parents abandoned her at a rundown orphanage as a newborn, and she has never known any love except for that given by her stingy caretaker, which is next to none. She has a single friend, and spends most of her time reading fairy tales and daydreaming. Cerritulus is the odd elf out. Donned in colorful shorts and kimonos with weird patterns, she's an outcast of all sorts, considered strange even by her own parents. Her total obsession with myths and history unsettles even the most hardened treasure hunters. Certus is a teenage heartthrob. He's intelligent, gorgeous, athletic, and humble. While all of the other elves, male and female, throw themselves at him, he brushes them off and prefers to disappear into the background with a book. Tom is Victoria's only friend. Her mischievous, attractive, extremely intelligent friend. His strong skill is coming up with elaborate schemes and flirting with every person who ever passes through the orphanage. When these four are strung together and get tangled up in a myth as old as time, they soon discover that there is much more to old legends than just a few elves and a prophecy. Think you know magic? Think again.
