Sable is a young horse who was raised by humans. Claire, the little girl who takes care of him, is his entire world. He can't imagine a life without her by his side!
But after a terrifying storm, Sable finds himself lost. After trying and trying to find his way back home, he stumbles across a herd of wild horses. Many of these horses are kind to him, and Sable finds himself especially fond of the beautiful mare Marista.
Not all these wild horses are as accepting of the young horse, though, as Sable will soon discover. Will he be able to gain their favor?
